Opportunity for a Electrical Engineer

We have an opportunity for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our company and become a member of our team.

Responsibilities

  • To assist with preparations of electrical engineering packages for power systems, including single-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams and bills of materials;
  • Collect and prepare electrical and other physical data for analysis by the senior power engineers and – where possible – also do the analysis for use by the senior engineers;
  • Assist with the preparation of data and information required for sub-contractors to deliver services and goods;
  • Participation in client meetings and site visits to collect design and engineering data;
  • Collect data and information on certain energy equipment and products (e.g. Solar PV, Tidal Turbines, Water Turbines, Wind Turbines, Energy Storage Systems), structures and present to supervisors;
  • Prepare Bill of Materials for rooftop solar PV stations with or without energy storage systems;
  • To be on site (e.g. Singapore, Indonesia or the Philippines), if and when possible, to carry out electrical works, engineering assignments or supervisory works, all under the supervision of senior power engineers;
  • Technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, technicians; both in an office environment as well as on-site.

 Competences & Capabilities

The candidate would possess the following capabilities and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; preferably with a specialization in power system engineering, including transmission and distribution networks;
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in engineering, supplemented with product knowledge and field-work in solar PV projects or other energy projects;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications is highly required;
  • Excellence in reporting in English (written and oral);
  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a team member and to clearly communicate approved actions for accurate implementation;
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility, initiative and pro-activism;
  • Ability to confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers and respond in a timely manner to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable, articulate manner.

Location

The position is located at the WEnergy Global Headquarters in Singapore. Frequent travelling within ASEAN countries is required.
