Lunch-Dialogue with 8 Ambassadors from West-African States in New Delhi, India
Mr Atem S. Ramsundersingh, CEO of WEnergy Global Pte Ltd was invited for an exclusive lunch meeting with 8 Ambassadors from West-African States, focusing on short-term, clean and renewable solutions for electricity to boost growth in these countries. The meeting, lasted for about two hours, had an informal character and responded to the many questions of the Honorable Ambassadors. In particular, the hybrid-solutions covering short and medium-term response to the growing demand of electricity by mobilizing innovative financing and operational management options. Price of electricity is increasing as the price of fossil fuels (e.g. diesel) is increasing. Current hydro and coal-powered plants are not cost-effectively managed forcing utilities to increase their prices, while subsidies are being reduced too. Renewable energy solutions can facilitate the transitioning to green growth development and help to ensure stability in the price of electricity through decentralized management, such as in small towns, villages and industrial parks. Reducing and managing the price of energy means increasing competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in emerging economies, such as in West-Africa.
