21.46 kWp Manila, Philippines, 2014
This project is a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installation with a capacity of 21.46 kWp realised by WEnergy Global Pte Ltd. The rooftop solar PV station is mounted on the rooftop of a five-storey office building in Taguig, adjacent to the Bonifacio Global City in Metro Manila, Philippines. The installation incorporates eight-five (85) photovoltaic panels and four grid-tied inverters for own consumption and when needed allowing for excess electricity to be fed back into the national grid. With a grid-tied inverter the rooftop solar PV station is grid interactive.

The system generates about 28,800 kWh per year. The project enables the owner to save a minimum of PHP 300,000 a year on its electricity bill and to reduce a total of about 20 tons of CO² emissions per year at the same time. These carbon emission reductions are equivalent to burning 8,400 litres gasoline less per year and carbon sequestration by 6 hectares of forests, more than four soccer fields, in one year.
