Saint Louis College Claims its Role in the Solar System
St. Louis College (SLC), San Fernando, La Union, Philippines inaugurated its first rooftop solar PV power plant of 200kWp that will substitute approximately 33% of its current grid-electricity consumption with clean power, and move the school towards a full party to the Paris Agreement on Climate Action.
The leadership of SLC, led by its President Rev. Father Gilbert Sales, is implementing its vision on the fight against global warming in collaboration with WEnergy Global and WEnergy Power Pilipinas Inc. Rev. Father Sales expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all, proclaiming: “WE at SLC are now literally a part of the solar system!”
The event was celebrated with the SLC Board, including former Mayor of San Fernando City, Mary Jane Ortega, a staunch advocate of renewable energy & the Sustainable Development Goals; and 300+ members of the SLC faculty and students amidst a plethora of cultural music & dance performances. Also attending the blessing of SLC’s newly renovated Transfiguration of our Lord Chapel on the same date.
