WEnergy Global Pte Ltd signed a research agreement with the Experimental Power Grid Center (EPGC) of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, one of the institutes under A*Star in Singapore, on 19th of August 2013. The aim of this agreement is to analyse and simulate scenarios related to projects being developed and designed by WEnergy Global Pte Ltd to ensure optimization of results envisaged for the investments being made. The first project subjected to this cooperation is the Sabang Hybrid Solar PV/Diesel Power Plant of 2.3 MW with a 7.3 km Micro-Grid to supply ‘clean power’ to over 250-500 off-takers in a sub-district of the City of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, The Philippines. This project is unique in its kind in ASEAN as it is an off-grid system using an intermittent power source for feeding a micro-grid. WEnergy Global Pte Ltd will operate this infrastructure in a partnership with Delta-P Inc, a Filippino power company, through the Joint Venture company Sabang Renewable Energy Corporation (SRE Corp). The cooperation with EPGC is a long term partnership as WEnergy Global Pte Ltd has several of such projects in their pipeline for several sites in ASEAN.
